 You can make compost tea? Combine equal parts of compost and water in a container and let it sit for a week, stirring once daily. Separate the liquid and mix one part tea with ten parts water to reduce the nitrogen content. Use on house or garden plants to give them a nutritional boost. Take the remaining material and place it directly in your garden.

 According to the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Missourians kept 44 percent of their trash out of landfills during 2006. Diverting waste benefits the environment by cutting down on greenhouse gases and reducing contaminants that can leak into the ground.
